Riva del Garda – An opening day with perfect sailing conditions and thirty-one boats from seven different countries on one start line for the third edition of the Eurocup, the event organized by Fraglia Vela Riva which marks the very final act of the J/70 Italian National Championship sponsored by Alcatel Onetouch.
On this first day, the J70s completed three races with constant steady breeze from 15-18 knots from the south -the “Ora” wind.
Franco Solerio on L’elagain, featuring so far atop the leader board of the circuit , keeps showing their counterparts how it’s done and with consistent top three finishes leads the fleet. Whereas the reigning Italian National champions on Calvi Network helmed by Carlo Alberini scored a second and a bullet taking the second place seven points off the first. In third place so far, a newcomer to the circuit- the Maltese Sebastian Ripard and his Team Beatsafe, the most consistent of all by finishing three races in fourth.
Sailing continues tomorrow with 4 races scheduled and the first warning at 12 am.
