Lerici – The second leg of the 2026 J/70 Cup concluded with a total of four valid races and no discards. As happened yesterday, unstable breezes prevented the completion of the only race that began this afternoon, forcing PRO Riccardo Incerti to finish the final day with no results.
This situation solidified the standings that emerged at the end of Day 1, resulting in the overall victory for Tenzor Team. Andrey Pushkin’s boat, the undisputed star of the opening day and already winner of the Garmin Cup, triumphed by a significant margin over Euro-Voiles, skippered by Francois Barbet and crewed by Denis Infante, who finished second on the podium and secured the Corinthian title.
Andrey Pushkin expressed satisfaction: “We couldn’t have hoped for a better debut: it was a stage made difficult both by the weather conditions and the caliber of the fleet. Congratulations to Circolo della Vela Erix and the J/70 Italian Class, whose near-perfect organization made us feel absolutely at home. This is an encouraging start for us, and we hope to repeat our performance in the remaining legs of the 2026 J/70 Cup, in which we will certainly participate.”
Completing the top five were Mauro Roversi’s J-Curve, who finished tied for points with Euro-Voile but placed behind after the partial scores, Harry Twomey’s Wildcard, who finished second among the Corinthians, and Gianfranco Noè’s White Hawk, a third Corinthian, tied for points with Ali Hall’s Calypso, who finished sixth overall.
Among the Mixed Plus divisions, the JB Sailing Team, led by J/70 Italian Class President Federico Siragna, won, racing alongside the Sailing Teams from the Business Schools of the Polytechnic University of Milan and Bocconi University.
The second stage of the 2026 J/70 Cup, organized by Circolo della Vela Erix in collaboration with the J/70 Italian Class, concluded with the awards ceremony, attended by club President Carlo Stefanini and the Mayor of Lerici, Leonardo Paoletti.
Having said goodbye to Lerici, the J/70 Italian Class now looks toward Torbole, where the third stage will take place towards the end of June.
The J/70 Italian Class, which uses the Vakaros RaceSense system to manage starts, is supported by Lincoln International, Garmin, VelaMania, North Sails Collection, UtilGraph, Gottifredi Maffioli, and Gin Vento.
